Mod Request - No Spiders!

Hey, folks; I have a dear friend who happens to have very severe Arachnophobia; like, ACTUAL arachnophobia. Can't see spiders without freaking out.

This provides a lot of problems as one might imagine, as spiders are a staple beast in many zones. So, would it be possible to get a mod that changes Spiders, at the very least visibly, to something else entirely? Moths, or dogs, or something? I would be very appreciative if this could be done, and, while I've no experience in this sort of thing myself, will help in any way I can.

Ah... well, I wouldn't want to get my friend banned, so I guess that's not an option. Thank you very much for the reply, and my apologies if this has been talked about in other threads.|||I’ve a bad phobia of spiders and most crawlies, and in a way playing WoW has kind of settled it. My son was well impressed with me the other day for removing one from the bath.

/flex|||Mods are unable to change the graphics of any in game Art Work (UI elements not included), and as Maticus said changing any such file is a violation of the ToS and is grounds for account banning.

Unfortunately for your friend most lvl 80 content has spiders of one form or another, Naxxramas (10/25 man raid) has a entire wing dedicated to spiders and you have to do Naxx if you want to progress further into the game (Raid Wise) unless you find a elite guild that can run you through end game content and get you geared (very unlikely).|||if he can get through naxx... Ulduar has no spiders... looks like the coliseum will have spiders again though. And there will almost certainly be spiders in Icecrown...|||Honestly, if he was big enough problems that he can't look at what's essentially an animated cartoon of a spider... I'd suggest a psychologist. Seriously.|||you can avoid the zones/instances with spiders. i have the same fear, and while it is not that severe, i do have other mental limitations which cause me to miss out on a lot of the key content of the game. there are many facets to it, which is what makes it so wonderful. you can get full enjoyment out of it without participating in those areas which gives you discomfort or trigger your phobias.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy is effective in treating phobias about 75% of the time. For a phobia that severe, it definitely seems like something worth trying.|||Quote:

Yeah... and do you have any friggin' idea how it is to be amongst the 25% it doesn't help?
