Many Thanks|||Cartographer used to be the one to have....|||........but it stopped working with the latest patch and as far as I know they haven't updated it. the titan bar gives you your character's coordinates, and there are various other mapping mods which will probably do it. just have to try them out and see which 1 suits you the best. www.curse.com has all the addons you could want.|||Indeed. You don't really need an addon just for that, you can create a macro and put this script code on it:
/script px,py=GetPlayerMapPosition("player")
/script DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage(format("%s: %s, %s",GetZoneText(),px*100,py*100));
To create a Macro, go to the Game Menu -> Macros -> New
Give a name and select an icon for your macro, press Okay
Paste the two lines of code above at the box with the "Enter macro commands:" label above it.
You can put the macro in one of your actions bars just like any spell/ability.|||Thanks for the advice all.

Diz|||There's several minimap addons which feature that ability. For example, Chinchilla and pMinimap.
Just do a search on one of the various addon sites for 'minimap' or check that category and you should be able to find something you like.

UI Help and Suggestions!
[:1]I was wondering if you all could help with some questions that I have been having. I have one 80 Death Knight (i know) and am now lvling up my two other characters that are a druid and a warrior. My druid is going to be raid heals, boom dps, boom pvp, and resto pvp. Warrior is straight furry dps. DK is blood dps.
1) I recently got rid of Xperal due to glitching of the addon and have now switched to Pitbull. I like the set up of my Xperal and pitbull is just not really for me. I was wondering if there is another addon that i might try? I have seen one around that i have liked but the name eludes me.
2) I am also asking for ways that i could clean up my interface. The addons that have atm are:
Atlasloot, Bartender 4, Chatter, DBM, Gatherer, GS, Healbot Con., IceHud, MikscrollingBattletext, MBF, Omen, Recount, Pitbull, QuestHelper, Sexy Map, SunnArt, and Skinner.

Ty for the suggestions. I made a few of em and now the reg WoW UI keeps popping up and i have to keep going back into pitbull and turning off the name plates. Is there anyway to fix that or am i sol?|||whats the problem with X-Perl?|||I've heard alot of people recommend spartan UI as an alternative to pitbull and x-pearl. Character Portrait Changer

I was looking at a video on video.google.com about the Gnomish Airport and other "top-secret" places that are very very wierd... anyways, the point of the post is this...
I noticed the gnome in the video, his character portrait (where his health bar, mana bar, etc..) wasn't your standart gnome portrait but was HIM (with his armor on) as in his full body portrait. Thing is, the portrait MOVED also... I'm not sure if the portrait moved as in ran when he ran, but it deffinitaly swayed from side to side like when you ctrl-click on a peice of armor, or hit "c" to view your character...
Could anyone tell me which mod or ui gives you the option to change your portrait to that one the gnome had? I really would like to use it!

One of the best I've ever seen is Serpent's RuinUI v2.0 but unfortunately it was posted awhile ago (January) and last time I fiddled around with it trying to get it to work right, it wouldn't cooperate. I don't have the time to spend on trying to get it working right either! Rather play.

Does anyone know where I can find a UI mod or something that allows me to quickly check the auction house prices of items that drop? I'm afraid I'll sell something on accident to vendors that could have otherwise been sold in AH for a much better price, which I have done in the past. I would ever so much appreciate it if someone could point me out to a mod like this.

Welcome.
I recommend using Auctioneer. Go to http://auctioneeraddon.com/dl/ and download AuctioneerSuite-x.x.xxxx.zip. It will:
- Add all kinds of market info to an item
- Estimate what it disenchants into
- Add a tab to the AH (called "the Appraiser") that makes it easier to post auctions.
It requires you to scan the AH on a regular basis. The more often you do the more accurate it's prices are.
It's a bit of a bulky addon, so if your REALLY only want to know the AH-price of something you either have to get a "less features" version like Auctioneer-x.x.xxxx.zip or some other addon like WowEcon.
As far as general addons go you can go to the Curse website or the local UI website here.|||Quote:

Yes, Auctioneer as recommended. Do two or three manual scans to start. This can take some time, maybe 20 minutes per scan. Thereafter, if you go to the AH frequently (I do it daily on one of my alts) it will scan automatically in the background as you search or put things on sale.|||/Also recommend Auctioneer as well.
Don't forget to congidure it to show tool tips on mouseover, otherwise it won't show scan data by default when you mouse over something.|||Adding a bit in response to Wintrow's post (edit time expired)
While it's a good idea to scan, you don't really have to scan. Auctioneer will self scan on it's own and when you browse/search for an item it scans and updates for that item.

I understand that this happened coincidentally with your installing Auctioneer, but I think it probably is just coincidence and something else is causing your NPC problem. It's not something I (or anyone else I know - and most that I know in the game have this addon) have ever experienced.|||It could be caused by really high latency/server lag.

best UI for Healing 5 man and 25 man?
[:1]I'm interested in leveling a healer, But I'm not sure what ui would make healing easier.
Anyone know of any ui addons that make healing easier, or make health levels easier to see etc?|||Well I use Healbot personally which can be found on Curse.com or other additional sites, easy to use some keybinds are set for your class but you can tweak them as you'd like just click on there name or right click on there name for different heals or spells, I know alot of people use grid as well but I go by the saying "if it aint broke dont fix it" so I stick with HB...
or you can go to a site like Wowinterface.com and look under healing packages or compiliations to get a whole group of addons in one..|||I too use healbot, not just for my healers, but my other chars as well (including my pally tank), because it is just so usefull. the interface is small, so even in a 25-man it takes up very little room on my screen. It then tells me if people are in range of my spells, and if they have my buffs on them or not. It shades the player's bars a different colour if they have a certain type of debuff on them that I can cure. for example, they turn purple if they have a magic debuff, so I instantly know who has it and can dispell it just as quickly.
key bindings are so easy as its all done with mouse clicks. there are various combinations like shift-right click, ctrl-left click, which I can set to different spells, making healing so easy. finally, it shows me who has aggro, which comes in very useful on my pally tank, because I can just click the combination for my taunt on the player who has aggro without taking my targetting off the mob I'm attacking.
imo its all you could want from a raid healing addon by combining 2-3 addons into 1 package.
there are various other addons you can try like xperl, clique and grid but I found them all too combersome to work with.|||As already mentioned Healbot is an excellent choice.
I used it myself for a long time, but have recently switched to a combination of Grid + Clique.
Why?
Quite simply: Looks and customizability.
While Healbot is very customizable, I could never find JUST the look I wanted. That I can with Grid. Grid offers the looks and setup of the group/raid panels, while Clique offers the click-to-cast options.
These two addons together offer what Healbot does in a single addon. However, they are a little more costomizable, both in looks and function. The downside however is that they are also more timeconsuming and complex to set up. I highly recommend looking at Llyra's Grid setup tutorial to see if this addon might appeal to you.
Whether you go for Healbot or Grid/Clique (or any other option available), there's one additional addon that should be in ANY healer's addon-list:
Decursive!
Decursive adds a set of small boxes (one for each group/raid member). When a player is hit by a debuff that you can remove the corresponding boz lights up and start counting how many seconds has passed since the player got the debuff.
You simply click on it with the left, right or middle button to remove the buff. Which button depends on which debuff, and the box is colorcoded to let you know which button to hit with. On my priest I click left button on red boxes (dispell magic) and blue boxes with right button (Cure disease). Couldn't be easier. Highly recommended!
You could use Healbot or Grid/Clique to do remove debuffs, but that would both tie up precious key-modifiers AND you'd have to remember them while already in a stressful situation.|||I don't know what class you heal with but on my priest I have more than enough click combinations to cover all my healing spells (with loads to spare). yes it is alot of combinations to remember but after a while you don't even have to think about what you're pressing, your fingers just do it the moment you decide what spell to cast.|||...which is true of all truly good healer. ;)

Simple.|||I have always used Grid and Healbot until the past month or so after I discovered Vuhdo. I believe you can find it on curse. Vuhdo alone has made me such a better healer on my druid.
I leveled from 15 to 80 as a resto druid just healing instances and pretty much bounced back an forth between Grid and Healbot the entire time. Somewhere after level 75, when healing became a little more serious in the newer dungeons, I started searching for addons. Right about the time I hit 80 on my druid, I found Vuhdo and never looked back.
It's got all the of the features that make a real healing mod great and practically zero setup time. Simple drag and drop of my raid bars and then typing the names of spells into my mouse binds was it. It tells me when to decurse, when to remove poison, and how long each and every hot will be on a given target.
I'm not saying person to person it's the best mod out there. Everybody is different. But I can say, you would be a fool not to at least try it cause it's as good as it gets.

Simple.|||I have always used Grid and Healbot until the past month or so after I discovered Vuhdo. I believe you can find it on curse. Vuhdo alone has made me such a better healer on my druid.
I leveled from 15 to 80 as a resto druid just healing instances and pretty much bounced back an forth between Grid and Healbot the entire time. Somewhere after level 75, when healing became a little more serious in the newer dungeons, I started searching for addons. Right about the time I hit 80 on my druid, I found Vuhdo and never looked back.
It's got all the of the features that make a real healing mod great and practically zero setup time. Simple drag and drop of my raid bars and then typing the names of spells into my mouse binds was it. It tells me when to decurse, when to remove poison, and how long each and every hot will be on a given target.
I'm not saying person to person it's the best mod out there. Everybody is different. But I can say, you would be a fool not to at least try it cause it's as good as it gets.

Reject guild invite mod?
[:1]I'm pretty sure I saw a mod somewhere that would automatically turn down 'join my guild' or 'sign my guild charter' offers, but I can't find it. My higher level guys belong to a guild. My lower levels don't and I'm a little tired of being in the AH or questing and having these offers pop up out of nowhere one after another. I have 'SpamMeNot' and 'NoDuel' and they work fine. Aaaaaagggghhhh, what is this mod that's driving me mad???
[:1]Since the patch last week, my game has been totally messed up. Can't log in half the time, can't switch from one realm to another or one character to another. But I hear a lot are having similar problems.
Trouble is, somehow, patch or whatever, all my addons disappeared. So my husband, ever helpful, said 'Oh, don't worry, I'll reinstall them all for you and save you the bother'. And he worked away busily on Curse for an hour or so. Now there's something in there that gives me a tiny ding! and then a red message comes on in midscreen that says 'QUICK BUNNY, (NAME OF CHARACTER) IS A DRAENEI (OR NIGHT ELF OR WHATEVER)'. This is every time a female character comes near.
Really annoying, and I don't know what's doing this. I've searched through them all, read all the descriptions, and nothing at all says it does this. I've never been one for silly purposeless addons anyhow. Anybody got any ideas before I go totally mad?|||Try typing /framestack. This should bring up an interface menu that can give you info on all your addons when you mouseover them. (Or, alternatively, type out the entire list)|||Disable exactly half your addons (the top or bottom half of the list). Yes, that's what I'm going to do. It's so strange, and so utterly unconnected with the addons I have, all addons that I have used for a couple of years. So unless this is some weird hack...... I thought at first that my husband had installed something silly as a sort of joke (ha ha) but that's not the case.|||Hmm.. from the description you gave of the addon, I'm guessing that it is meant to help you identify players for the "Shake your bunny maker" achievement for Noblegarden.

Hmmmm, interesting, but Noblegarden isn't even started yet, has it? I think I'm going to have to try 'repair' as not only do I have this problem, along with the other problems of login, it's now failing to show NPCs, mailboxes and other characters.|||/hijack
After this patch I had the "common" problem of a stuck loading screen. Every other time I tried to log in a character (literally 50% of the time) the loading screen would get to 100% and not do anything. First blue post on the official forums I saw said, almost word for word:

Need Ar Pen/AP HUD
[:1]Ok, I've done some perusing through different sites, and I cannot seem to find an add-on with a HUD that'll display my attack power, let alone my armor pen coupled in with it, and perhaps even haste. I didn't think I'd find one with all 3, but I thought I could at least find one with attack power(as it's fairly easy to recognize when BL or Needle Encrusted Scorpion are up/fall off just by glancing at my buff HUD). It really doesn't need to be very complex, a small box with my current value(s).
Does anyone currently use an up to date add-on that can fulfill this need? Or, would it be possible for someone to write such an add-on? Not sure how complex it would be as I'm not versed in add-on artistry. I've had more than a few people tell me to let them know if I find such and add-on, so there seems to be interest. There's interest in such an add-on that would show spell power as well.
I really hate having my character screen blocking my party/raid group while raiding just so i can reference this information before I blow DRW. Thanks guys.|||If I understand you correctly, you want an addon that shows comparisons between loot and your equiped gear in terms of different stats. No, I'm pretty sure it's a "I need to know this before I blow a major cooldown, where can I find the addon for it?" question, I just don't quite get what they're looking for either.|||Power Auras Classic might be what you're looking for - you can set it up to show when buffs activate by showing somekind of symbology around your character. I use to show when Art of War procs on my Pala, and when I have Slice 'n' Dice active on my Rogue.|||Yeah this is along the lines of knowing when buffs at any given time have an effect on your ARP or AP. Might look into some sub addons. Like plugins for different huds to have this advanced effect. Ice Hud shows your HP, Mana, Rage, or energy in arcs on screen in your face. There might be a way to post active stat reading directly below the arc. I thought I have seen this before. I load it out of date, but it seems to me that a future patch will undoubtedly break the addon. If I could find one that is up to date that would be awesome. Tells you how much damage/healing/whatever. If you're looking for something to tell you exactly what % it's giving you, go for RatingBuster.|||I must have not been as articulate as necessary previously, because quite a few of you seem to misunderstand what it is that I'm looking for.
What I'm after is an addon that keeps track of current values in a little Heads Up Display on screen in order to properly identify when it's optimal to blow Hysteria+Hyperspeed Accelerators+Potion of Speed+Dancing Rune Weapon. When I have more attack power/Armor Penetration procs up the DRW keeps all of those buffs on itself for it's duration, but it does not get any of the benefit from procs that occur after I blow it. So Something that will tell me attack power and armor pen would be really nice when trying to maximize it's damage.
I'm not after a tool tip addon to help me weigh stats; but thank you Mazhulsage, for the suggestion. DrDamage looks like a great addon... I currently use RatingsBuster, but I might just switch.

I like the way he put it. And he's absolutely right. Until you decide to join a real MMO WoW community, you can enjoy the modless, crappy interface, and severely low pop, low performance server connections. I like the way he put it. And he's absolutely right. Until you decide to join a real MMO WoW community, you can enjoy the modless, crappy interface, and severely low pop, low performance server connections. Comparison of stats of eq
[:1]I have installed a AddonPack named "187 AIO PACK - one eight seven" and now
the comparison of eq (equipped and the one I am checking) has disappeared. I
guess this is some kind of setting from one of the addons. I have tried to find
the appropriate setting for this but do not find it, anyone that have any clue
what I can check so I get my comparison back, if possible included with the one I have for the moment.

Addon for use on a flying mount?

I'm looking for something to warn me if I'm not flying level or something. Too many times I'm ore gathering in outland and don't notice I'm pitched up on an angle until I start getting higher up or pitched down and getting close to flying into a wall or mountain.

Welllllll....... not quite. For some reason, about three out of five times when my husband logs on and flies on one of his characters (any of five that can fly mounted) his mount begins to go head-down. It's gradual at first, then becomes worse and nothing corrects it.
He's talked to GMs (they said they'd heard of such things but had no idea how to correct it) and e-mailed Blizzard, who said the usual 'uninstall your game and reinstall it'. He did that without any change.
So now, when it happens, he logs out, and when he logs back in, it's corrected itself. He's never dared let it go to the seeming conclusion, when mount and rider would crash.|||lol, crash

His mount will continue to "flap" or whatever flying animation the mount has. That's about it. There is almost nothing bad that can happen as regards mounts and the world environment. I have been scouring the internet for any information regarding implementing a new tab into the FriendsFrame without overwriting any of the current functions.
The best I could find was an addon already written designed for BlackListing people called "Black List". I tried to follow the authors code, however there is a lot of stuff in the addon which I find is irrelevant to the basic integration of a new tab.
Could someone please help me with this -- perhaps a very simple xml / lua (or lua alone) sample which does nothing except add a new tab to the friends frame.

Thanks very much. Unfortunately it offers a mass of information on alts that probably includes how clean their socks are, but not a list of the quests each has. Ah, well...... I said that I was lazy!|||I linked the addon specifically because of the following:

Well, I installed it, and couldn't find this function. Everything else imaginable, but not quest logs. I'll have another look, though. It's a complex thing to sort out, this addon and I'll admit I was short of time when I did it.|||The one I pasted is a questlog replacement and if you have the "alt quest tracking" turned on it will put a colored number next to the quest in your log. If you mouse over the quest title is tells you which alts are on the same quest.
What it won't do, which I think is what you are looking for, is tell you which quests your alts have even if you don't currently have that quest. For example, if your current character is on quest A, B, and C it will tell you that your alt is on A and C but it won't go on to tell you that alt also has D.|||I finally got time to spend a while exploring Altoholic and it really is a good and useful addon.
