I'm looking for a clean looking UI setup for my play style. I'm a "point-n-click" player. I use the keyboard for direction/simple avatar movements but for every essential spell/action I need to point to it on BarT 4 and click it to make it happen. My main is a hunter so something along that line for input would be greatly appreciated.
What my UI looks like: http://imgur.com/eC10T.jpg
My mod's are: Atlas, AtlasLoot Enh, Auctioneer, Auto Track, Bartender4, Cartographer, Cellular, ChatMod, CT_Buff, Easy Mail, Face Shooter/Smasher, FuBar 3.6, Gathermate, IceHud, IgnoreMore, Kharthus's Hunter Timers, MSBT, MiniMap Button Frame, Omen3, OmniCC, One Bag/Ring/Bank, Prat, Quest Helper, Rating Buster, Recount, SpamMeNot, WinterGrasper Adv, X-Perl Unitframes, DBM.
Again, any suggestions that will help clean up my interface and simplify my settings will be much appreciated.|||Point the one - I'm not clicking on that link. if you want others to look at a screenshot then host it on a recognised imagehost site, such as Imagebam or Imagevenue.
Point the two - can I ask, is there a reason you're a clicker ? It might potentially limit your options when it comes to screen real estate.|||tbh your UI looks pretty tidy already. the only thing I would suggest is cutting down on the number of buttons you have. this can be done mainly with some simple macros and since you are a clicker, it shouldn't be too hard to adapt to it. all you do is have a macro for your aimed shot and multishot. these 2 skills share a CD so instead of having 2 buttons, make a macro to have both skills on the same button. then to activate aimed shot you would left click the button, if you want multishot, right click it. alternatively you can use the modifiers (ctrl, shift, alt) for your skills.
doing this will greatly decrease the amount of buttons you have and (once you get the hang of them) will speed things up for you in battle.|||Thanks Davemetalhead, I'll remember to do that if I need to post an image. I do not want to make others hesitant to click on it if the site used isn't known.
I've had others suggest the same about macro'ing some buttons together that share the same CD, guess I put it aside at that time, thx.|||if your looking for some good addons you might want to check out forge advantage. they have a whole bunch of addons that come preconfigured and after every patch they have it set up to re configure for you.
http://forgeadvantage.com|||Ah, another link from a first time user. In a thread where the op is told we don't click on them normally.
Judging by the mind blowing array of addons that the op already has, I think he's found a source for them. A good ui, I don't know. Never used anything but the Blizz one.|||Your action bars are a complete mess, and that's even more an issue for you given that you are a clicker.
A good place to start is to get rid of all of your non-combat stuff that you have barred. That means your tradeskills, food, flasks, non-combat pets, hearthstone, and other non essential stuff. Basically ask yourself if you will ever need to use the button in the heat of battle, and if the answer is no, you shouldn't see it on your screen.
I'm not saying you have to give up the convenience of having these things barred. There are a couple of things you can do with them. You can put them on their own action bars, put those bars off to the side, and then set them to only show on mouseover. They are there for your convenience, but you only have to see them when you need them. You can also look into a mod like Opie, which lets you set up rings that you can pull up with keybinds.|||Whenever anyone asks this question i usually tell them to go to wow ace and spend a few weeks..yes i said weeks...looking at the stuff they have.
problem.
I may be wrong but, you seem like the kind of guy that will try to get them to work on your UI for you. and they WILL NOT DO THAT. some of those guys wont even share how they do some of what they do. so don't expect them to.
so if you take my first piece of advice be polite to the people who actually have conversations in pixel width.
now I will say that your UI is fairly clean. And i appreciate that. Its a good sign. however you dont seem to be all that concerned about raid information. Which strongly suggests that your not a raider..or at least an aggressive one. so you would need/want addons and advice on how to improve your shot rotation, instance grinding, and over all utility.
first i suggest 2 addons.
Power auras and forte exorcist.
both of these adds take some time to set up. like hours each. it took me almost an hour to learn the options set up for FE...not cus it was bad..or poorly designed..but because it was so customizable. And power auras is possible the best addon ever made for wow. and is almost as customizable.
I agree with the above that your bars are a mess. they need to be organised. I have a friend who uses as many bars but has them set up identical to the buttons on his keyboard and has them all hotkeyed accordingly.|||Quote:

he's got DBM, recount and x-pearl, all classic raiding addons. you don't really need much more than that for general raiding.
